LNS Faesen

The Louvain Newman Society will host another Friday Night Clear Heads and Holy Hearts Discussion Series event on Friday, March 15th, at St. Kwinten’s Church.  Fr. Rob Faesen, Professor of Theology, KU Leuven, will present “St. Ignatius for Everybody: How to Include the Spiritual Exercises in Your Day.”  During the season of Lent we are called to conversion by turning away from sin and to renew our faith in Christ.  Fr. Faesen will present the ‘Spiritual Exercises’ of St. Ignatius of Loyola and offer ways in which we can incorporate these exercises into our daily exercise routine.  The discussion will begin with Holy Eucharist at 18:00hrs, with Fr. Faesen’s presentation immediately following at Kwinten Huis, directly across the street from St. Kwinten’s Church.  All are welcome!

St. Kwinten's Church, Leuven

The LNS is moving bases and will, from now on, have St. Kwinten’s Church as its new home. This impacts, for example, the Friday masses, which, though no longer officially organized by the LNS, will be organized by the parish at St. Kwinten with the same goal: a slow implementation of a Latin Novus Ordo. ALL WEEKDAY MASSES AT ST. KWINTEN’S ARE AT 6PM.

St. Kwinten’s is the Brabant Gothic Church on 160A Naamsestraat. You can’t miss it. We look forward to utilizing the beautiful liturgical space and the hospitality room available for our monthly Clear Heads and Holy Hearts talks.

The high altar at the American College prepared for mass for All Souls.

The LNS has begun an initiative to encourage students to learn the ordo missae in Latin. In this, the LNS has for its inspiration, Sacrosanctum concilium 54:

Nevertheless steps should be taken so that the faithful may also be able to say or to sing together in Latin those parts of the Ordinary of the Mass which pertain to them.

Every Friday at 5:30 at the American College, masses will be held, first in English with some Latin, and then, gradually over the course of the year, more of the Latin parts will be implemented in ‘phases.’ ALL ARE WELCOME!
